Building Confidence Beyond the Classroom

Bespoke Alternative Provision for Primary-Aged Children in Bath and surrounding areas

When a child is unable to access mainstream education, finding the right support can feel overwhelming. At Wildflower Education, I provide personalised alternative provision that places your child at the centre of everything I do.

As a qualified primary school teacher with over eight years of experience, I create individual learning programmes that are carefully planned around each child's strengths, interests and educational needs. Whether your child requires full alternative provision, additional educational support alongside home education, or a flexible programme designed to rebuild confidence in learning, every session is tailored to help them flourish.

Unlike traditional tutoring, my approach goes beyond teaching academic subjects. I believe meaningful progress begins with strong relationships, emotional wellbeing and learning experiences that inspire curiosity. Through creative, practical and outdoor learning, I help children reconnect with education in a way that feels safe, enjoyable and purposeful.

Every programme is thoughtfully planned using your child's individual learning goals, interests and next steps. Learning can be linked to the National Curriculum where appropriate or designed around personalised outcomes, ensuring every child is supported at a pace that is right for them. From baking and nature walks to project-based learning and hands-on activities, each experience has a clear educational purpose whilst remaining engaging and meaningful.

I work closely with parents throughout every child's learning journey and, where appropriate, collaborate with schools and other professionals to ensure children receive consistent support. Flexible provision is available to suit both your family's schedule and your child's individual needs.

At Wildflower Education, every child receives:

  • A personalised learning programme tailored to their individual strengths, interests and goals.

  • Bespoke lesson planning and resources created by an experienced qualified teacher.

  • A nurturing, relationship-led approach that supports confidence, wellbeing and a positive attitude towards learning.

  • Creative, practical and outdoor learning experiences that bring education to life.

  • Regular communication with parents, including written feedback and next steps.

  • A safe, supportive environment where children can grow academically, socially and emotionally.

Bespoke Alternative Provision

Wildflower Education provides bespoke alternative provision for primary-aged children who are learning outside of mainstream education or who would benefit from a personalised approach to learning.

This is more than academic support.

Every programme of provision is individually designed around your child's strengths, interests, learning goals and personal development. Before learning begins, I take time to understand your child's unique profile, working closely with families to build a programme that supports both educational progress and emotional wellbeing.

Where appropriate, learning is informed by the National Curriculum whilst remaining flexible enough to reflect each child's individual needs, pace and aspirations. Every learning experience is purposeful, engaging and designed to help children experience success.

I don't believe children should adapt to education. I believe education should adapt to the child.

About Wildflower Education

Every Child Deserves the Opportunity to Flourish

At Wildflower Education, I believe that every child deserves an education that recognises their individuality. Just as every wildflower grows at its own pace and flourishes in the right environment, every child has unique strengths, interests and ways of learning. When children are supported in a way that works for them, confidence grows, curiosity develops and meaningful learning follows.

I'm Charlotte, the founder of Wildflower Education and a qualified primary school teacher with over eight years of classroom experience. I graduated from the University of Reading in 2018 with a degree in Primary Education, specialising in English. Throughout my teaching career, I have developed a strong understanding of the primary curriculum, child development and the importance of building positive, trusting relationships that allow children to feel safe, valued and capable of success.

Over the years, I have seen first-hand that whilst mainstream education supports many children successfully, it isn't the right environment for every child. Some children need learning to look different. They need time, flexibility, meaningful relationships and an approach that recognises them as individuals rather than expecting them to fit into a traditional classroom.

That understanding inspired me to create Wildflower Education.

Thoughtfully Planned, Individually Designed

Every child deserves more than an off-the-shelf programme.

Behind every learning experience is careful professional planning. Every resource, activity and educational experience is created specifically for your child, ensuring learning remains meaningful, appropriately challenging and responsive to their progress.

Provision is continually reviewed and adapted, allowing learning to evolve alongside your child's confidence, interests and development. No two learning programmes are ever the same because no two children are ever the same.

Rather than focusing solely on academic outcomes, I aim to nurture the whole child, supporting confidence, independence, resilience and a positive relationship with learning that extends far beyond the classroom.

Learning Through Meaningful Experiences

Children learn best when learning feels relevant, engaging and enjoyable.

My approach combines creativity, practical experiences and the natural world to create rich learning opportunities that inspire curiosity and encourage exploration. Whether we're baking to develop mathematical understanding, exploring nature to inspire writing, completing a creative project or investigating the world around us, every experience has clear educational purpose whilst remaining enjoyable and accessible.

Learning is carefully designed around each child's interests because motivation grows when children feel genuinely connected to what they are learning.

Working in Partnership

I believe the most successful educational journeys happen when everyone works together.

Throughout your child's programme, I work collaboratively with parents, maintaining open communication and providing regular written feedback to celebrate progress, identify next steps and ensure learning continues beyond our time together.

Where appropriate, I also work alongside schools and other professionals to ensure provision complements wider educational goals and provides consistent support for each child.

Every family is different, which is why Wildflower Education offers flexible provision designed around your child's needs and your family's circumstances. Whether your child benefits from weekly provision, a longer-term personalised programme or a bespoke package of support, together we will create an approach that works for your family.

Helping every child flourish

Hello, I’m Charlotte, a qualified primary school teacher and founder of Wildflower education.

With over eight years of teaching experience, I have dedicated my career to helping children develop confidence, discover a love of learning and achieve their full potential. Throughout my journey as an educator, one belief has remained at the heart of everything I do: every child deserves an education that recognises who they are as an individual.

I graduated from the University of Reading in 2018 with a degree in Primary Education, specialising in English. Since then, I have taught across key stage 1 and 2, developing a strong understanding of child development, the National Curriculum and how to create meaningful learning experiences that allow children to thrive.

As my career has developed, I have become increasingly passionate about providing education that is truly personalised. While mainstream schools support many children successfully, I also recognised that the traditional classroom isn't the right environment for everyone. Some children simply need learning to look different. They need time, flexibility, meaningful relationships and an approach that adapts to them rather than expecting them to adapt to education.

That understanding inspired me to create Wildflower Education.

My Professional Experience

Throughout my teaching career, I have continually sought opportunities to develop both my classroom practice and my wider understanding of education.

Alongside teaching, I have led Art, Design & Technology and Music across several primary schools, creating opportunities for children to experience a broad and enriching curriculum. From organising performances and concerts to leading collaborative whole-school art projects, I have always believed that education should inspire creativity, encourage self-expression and celebrate every child's achievements.

I am currently working towards the National Professional Qualification (NPQ) in Behaviour and Culture, further developing my understanding of creating positive learning environments where children feel safe, valued and ready to learn.

These experiences have strengthened my belief that successful education is about far more than academic outcomes. It is about developing confident, resilient young people who feel capable of succeeding both inside and beyond education.

My Approach to Education

Wildflower Education was founded from my belief that education should adapt to the child, rather than expecting the child to adapt to education. Throughout my teaching career, I have seen how powerful learning can be when a child feels safe, understood and genuinely valued, and this remains at the heart of my approach. I take time to understand each child's strengths, interests, individual needs and learning goals before carefully designing a personalised programme that is meaningful and engaging to them. Through creativity, practical experiences, outdoor learning and child-led interests, I aim to make education purposeful and enjoyable while supporting academic progress, confidence, independence and wellbeing. I believe the strongest outcomes are achieved through collaboration, which is why I work closely with parents and, where appropriate, schools and other professionals to create consistent, joined-up support around the child. Every programme is continually reviewed and adapted as the child develops, because no two children - and therefore no two educational journeys - are the same. Ultimately, my mission is to help children reconnect with learning, recognise their own abilities and feel proud of what they can achieve, giving every child the opportunity to flourish in their own way and at their own pace.

Bloom Programme

2.5-hour personalised learning session

The Bloom Session offers a more immersive learning experience for children who are educated outside of mainstream school. With plenty of time to explore, create and discover, learning is carefully tailored to your child's individual needs, interests and aspirations.

Every session is thoughtfully planned around your child's personal learning goals, whether these are linked to the National Curriculum, individual education targets or areas identified by parents and professionals. By following each child's interests, learning becomes meaningful, engaging and purposeful, helping to develop both confidence and a genuine love of learning.

Rather than separating subjects into traditional lessons, the Bloom Session takes a holistic approach, naturally weaving together three curriculum areas through inspiring, real-life experiences. A baking activity might combine maths, English and science, while an outdoor exploration could develop literacy, geography and art. This cross-curricular approach helps children make meaningful connections and see the relevance of their learning in everyday life.

Each Bloom Session includes:

  • A fully personalised programme of learning planned around your child's interests, strengths and individual learning goals.

  • Learning across three curriculum areas through engaging, hands-on experiences.

  • Individually planned resources, activities and lessons designed specifically for your child.

  • Dedicated regulation time to help your child feel settled, safe and ready to learn.

  • A movement break to promote wellbeing, emotional regulation and sustained engagement.

  • A short written parent report summarising the session, celebrating achievements and outlining next steps.

The Bloom Session is designed to nurture the whole child - not only supporting academic progress but also developing confidence, independence, curiosity and resilience. Every experience is carefully planned to ensure your child feels successful, valued and inspired to learn in a way that works for them.

Blossom Programme

The Blossom Programme is a personalised alternative provision package for children who are learning outside of mainstream education. Designed and delivered by a qualified primary teacher, it provides a structured, nurturing and engaging programme of learning that is tailored entirely to each child's individual needs.

Every Blossom Programme consists of six hours of carefully planned learning, built around your child's interests, strengths and next steps. Rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach, I create an individual programme that supports both academic progress and personal development, helping children rebuild confidence, develop positive relationships with learning and achieve meaningful outcomes.

Learning is often centred around a real-life experience, educational visit or practical project, allowing children to make authentic connections across the curriculum. Whether we're baking, exploring nature, visiting a local museum or completing a creative project, every activity has clear educational purpose and is carefully planned to support your child's learning goals.

Each session focuses on a specific objective, with opportunities to revisit and consolidate learning throughout the programme. This ensures children have the time, repetition and support they need to develop new skills and experience success. Learning can be linked to the National Curriculum where appropriate or planned around individual education targets agreed with parents, schools or other professionals.

The programme is flexible and can be delivered as three 2-hour sessions, two 3-hour sessions or another arrangement that best meets your child's needs and fits around family commitments.

The Blossom Package includes:

  • Six hours of bespoke alternative provision.

  • An individual learning programme tailored to your child's interests, needs and educational goals.

  • Cross-curricular learning through meaningful, real-life experiences.

  • Bespoke lesson planning, resources and activities.

  • Learning linked to the National Curriculum or individual outcomes where appropriate.

  • Dedicated regulation and movement breaks to support emotional wellbeing and readiness to learn.

  • Regular opportunities to revisit and consolidate learning.

  • A comprehensive end-of-programme report detailing progress, achievements, next steps and recommendations for future learning.

At Wildflower Education, I believe that every child deserves an education that recognises their individuality. The Blossom Programme provides the time, flexibility and personalised support needed to help children reconnect with learning, build confidence and flourish in a way that is meaningful to them.

Reviews

Charlotte has made an incredible difference to my son (who has SEN needs, anxiety and OCD) and his education. She’s the first teacher who has advanced him, from ‘working towards’ expected levels to achieving them and feeling confident in his abilities. Charlotte has helped him feel able to make that progress by meeting all of his SEN and anxiety needs. The school year before they met he’d spent all day in the corridor for six weeks straight - with Charlotte he didn’t leave the classroom once. I couldn’t be happier with the time they spent together and would highly recommend Charlotte to anyone looking for support.

— Former Parent

After multiple exclusions for behaviour, we pulled our son out of school to start home learning. He is quite easily distracted and struggles to learn at a table (which there is a lot of in year 5) so we weren’t getting far with home learning. We reached out to Charlotte who instantly seemed to just ‘get’ him and find ways to engage him in the learning without him feeling pressured or bored. She met him at home and after our first session he said that he had had fun and wants to go back. We look forward to seeing how far he will go! Thank you!
